About Chisom, the writer

Chisom Unegbu emigrated to the United States from Nigeria with her parents in 1981. She has an associate degree in Journalism from Tyler Junior College, a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communication from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a master's degree in Human Resource Development from The University of Texas at Tyler. She works in higher education in the area of employee training and development.

June 2011 she joined the internet radio team of NaijaRadio234 where she hosts her weekend radio show, Plan Be with Chisom on Saturday evenings from 8:30pm to 9:00pm U.S. Central Standard Time. The show discusses entrepreneurship, developing life and career skills, and encourages people to make positive investments toward improvement in their personal and professional lives.

Chisom is also an author, having authored her first young adult novella, When All the Locusts Had Eaten, and plans to launch her first book of poetry this Spring, entitled Blood for Ink: A Collection of Poems by a Nigerian American.
